Nine Killed in Horrific Collision Following Armed Dispute in Yemen's Amran

Nine individuals, including several first responders, have died in a catastrophic collision that occurred in the Harf Sufyan district of Amran governorate, a region under Houthi control. The incident followed an armed dispute between two cousins.

Local sources reported that a dispute erupted between Naji Shilh and his cousin, Munaa Shilh. The disagreement escalated to an exchange of gunfire, resulting in injuries to both men. Subsequently, several members of the Al-Harshan family, identified as Adnan Ali Harshan and Hashem Hameed Harshan, along with Mohammed Shilh, brother of the injured Munaa Shilh, and Ahmed Yahya Shilh, rushed to provide aid to the wounded.

The sources further explained that as the first responders were en route to transport the injured, a violent collision took place in the Al-Murabaa area, north of Harf Sufyan city. Their vehicle collided with a car carrying Saddam Hussein Fareh and his cousin, Taha Qayed Mohammed Fareh. The impact caused both vehicles to erupt in flames, resulting in the complete incineration of all occupants.

According to the sources, the collision claimed the lives of everyone in both vehicles. An additional fatality, Nabil Shaddad from Bani Shaddad, brought the total death toll to nine individuals. The deceased have been identified as Naji Shilh, Munaa Shilh, Mohammed Shilh, Ahmed Yahya Shilh, Adnan Ali Harshan, Hashem Hameed Harshan, Saddam Hussein Fareh, Taha Qayed Mohammed Fareh, and Nabil Shaddad.

This tragic event occurs amidst a notable increase in road accident fatalities across Yemen. The deteriorating condition of roads and the absence of traffic safety measures are exacerbating human and material losses at an unprecedented rate.
