Yemeni Armed Forces Vow Continued Operations Following Al Hudaydah Attack

The Yemeni Armed Forces have affirmed their commitment to continuing their duties with high efficiency across all fronts, pursuing the national battle until its objectives are met, eradicating the threat posed by the Houthi militia and its Iranian agenda, and restoring security and stability to Yemen and its institutions.

This declaration was made in a press statement issued by the official spokesperson for the Armed Forces, Colonel Rukun Majid Al-Nuzayli. He characterized the terrorist attack launched by the Houthi militia on the city of Al Hudaydah and its port yesterday, Sunday, using missiles and drones, as an assault on civilian facilities, infrastructure, residences of employees and their families, and power generation stations, in addition to military sites. This action constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and its customary rules.

The statement detailed that the terrorist aggression has, to date, resulted in the martyrdom of four members of the Armed Forces and three civilians, with 30 others injured, the majority of whom were civilians who have since been discharged after receiving treatment. The statement emphasized that the methodology employed by the terrorist militia involves targeting civilians and vital installations. It was also noted that the air defense systems of the Armed Forces stationed in Al Hudaydah successfully intercepted and downed eleven Houthi drones involved in the attack.

The official spokesperson stressed that the attack on the units of the Armed Forces stationed in Al Hudaydah is considered an attack on the entire armed forces.

The Armed Forces reiterated their possession of the will, capability, and initiative required to silence and neutralize sources of threat, preventing them from continuing their hostile actions in accordance with operational requirements, while safeguarding civilian lives and assets.
