Two explosions occurred near an oil tanker as it transited the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman early Thursday, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). The vessel and its crew were confirmed to be safe. The incident took place approximately nine nautical miles southeast of the Omani city of Qumzar, as per the UKMTO's notification. The authority stated that no environmental damage reports have been received as a result of the incident. |
