Houthi Militia Intensifies Military Presence in Shar'ab Al-Salam, Establishes New Posts North of Taiz

The Houthi militia has significantly increased its military movements and reinforcements in the Shar'ab Al-Salam district, north of Taiz governorate, over the past hours. This escalation includes the establishment of new positions and outposts on several heights and hills overlooking residential villages.

Local sources reported that the militia deployed military reinforcements aboard vehicles equipped with medium-caliber weapons. Their fighters have been positioned across various strategic mountainous heights and hills that command views of the villages and communities in the Mukhlāf area of the district.

The sources added that the largest concentration of militia forces was observed in the Bani 'Awn villages, where military personnel and equipment were deployed. Concurrently, their presence was reinforced in the Hūl al-Ḍab' village, moving towards the Shabaz Bani 'Awn village.

Following the arrival of these reinforcements, the militia began establishing new checkpoints and military sites on the heights overlooking the area, indicating a deliberate enhancement of their military footprint within the district.

Sources suggest these maneuvers may serve as a prelude to establishing a new military camp in the region, aimed at expanding their operational reach and bolstering military readiness on the northern front of Taiz governorate.

These troop buildups occur amidst the Houthi militia's ongoing fortification of positions across multiple combat fronts, coupled with escalating threats against international maritime navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
