Aden Authorities Seize Over 3,000 Pregabalin Pills, Arrest Two for Trafficking

Aden security forces have apprehended two individuals involved in the trafficking of Pregabalin, a controlled substance, seizing approximately 3,300 pills in the Al-Mansoura district.

The Anti-Narcotics Department of Aden Police, in collaboration with the National Security Forces, announced the successful operation on Saturday evening. The confiscated Pregabalin pills were found in 219 strips, each containing 300 mg of the drug.

Major Miyas Al-Jaadani, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, stated that the suspects, identified as H.A.M.A. and M.A.S.H., were taken into custody. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and their case file has been transferred to the Assistant Prosecutor for Security and Investigation to complete the judicial process.

Al-Jaadani emphasized that this operation is part of an ongoing campaign by the department to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb the spread of narcotics, particularly among youth, due to the significant health, social, and security threats they pose.

The seizure highlights the persistent efforts to distribute illicit substances within the governorate. Authorities urged citizens to cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities that could aid in combating this phenomenon.

In a separate development, the Homeland Shield Forces in Al-Mahra Governorate reported the seizure of approximately 25 kilograms of methamphetamine, as part of their security operations aimed at combating drug smuggling and trafficking and enhancing security and stability in the region.
