Yemen's Duweid Claims Houthi Entry to Sanaa Was Agreed with Hadi

Yahya Abdullah Duweid, a member of the General Committee of the General People's Congress, has revealed that the Houthi militia's entry into the capital, Sanaa, in September 2014, occurred through a prior agreement with former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

Duweid stated in a post on the "X" platform that the events were "fully agreed upon between them [the Houthis] and President Hadi, and at his initiative, to achieve objectives that are not hidden from anyone."

He further elaborated that this development transpired "through a joint operations room, with the blessing of some embassies, and the knowledge of some state leaders who were silenced by interests." Duweid asserted that "a day will come when all the facts and details will be revealed."

The statement comes amidst ongoing reports of Houthi actions, including alleged crackdowns on private property through judicial channels in Dhamar and Hodeidah, and clashes between tribes and the militia in Al-Hazm city.
