Dozens of citizens held a protest in front of the Public Prosecutor's office in Sana'a, which is under Houthi militia control, demanding justice for the case of the child Asma Ahmed Museib. The 11-year-old child, Asma Ahmed Museib, was found deceased under mysterious circumstances days ago inside her maternal uncles' home in the Haraz district of Sana'a Governorate. She had been residing there for five years following her parents' separation, which led to the mother leaving the marital home. Activists revealed that the forensic report concerning Asma Ahmed Museib confirmed she was murdered by strangulation. The perpetrators then staged the scene to suggest suicide by hanging. Protesters called on the competent authorities to open a transparent and impartial investigation to uncover the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice. Local sources indicate that security forces have arrested two of the victim's maternal uncles and the wife of one of them in connection with the investigation. Sana'a and areas under Houthi control have recently witnessed a frightening rise in the phenomenon of domestic crimes. |
