Houthi Official Assaults Lawyer in Yemen's Zabid, Sparking Outcry

A senior Houthi leader reportedly subjected a lawyer to a physical assault in the city of Zabid, located in Yemen's western Al-Hudaydah governorate, an incident that has generated widespread condemnation from human rights organizations and local constituents.

Local sources indicate that the Houthi official, identified as "Abu Abdulsalam," allegedly carried out the severe beating against lawyer Yasser Mohammed Hussein Darsi in a public thoroughfare in Zabid two days ago. Following the incident, the injured lawyer was transported to Al-Thawra General Hospital in Al-Hudaydah to receive necessary medical treatment for the injuries sustained during the attack.
