Tribal Clashes in Marib and Al-Jawf Leave Three Dead and One Injured

Renewed tribal conflicts over the past 48 hours in Yemen's Marib and Al-Jawf governorates resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including a child, and seriously wounded a fourth person amid escalating armed confrontations.

In Marib Governorate, local sources confirmed that armed clashes erupted between fighters from the Al-Saydah - Bani Nauf tribe and members of the Maraziq - Dahm tribe in the Bin Ma'aili station area of Al-Wadi district. These confrontations, reportedly stemming from previous tribal vengeance, led to the deaths of Qata'an Shantar Al-Saydi and Ali bin Saleh bin Salem Shuwail Al-Naufi. Additionally, Saleh bin Faraj Dayan Al-Marzouqi sustained critical injuries and was transferred for urgent medical treatment.

Concurrently, violent nighttime fighting occurred in Al-Matoon district of Al-Jawf Governorate, which remains under Houthi militia control. Clashes between the Al-Dweir and Al-Qawasimah - Bart factions took place at the "Monday Market." Despite the intensity of these engagements, no casualties were reported as tribal mediation successfully intervened to de-escalate the situation and enforce a ceasefire between the involved parties.

Furthermore, widespread tribal anger and discontent have arisen following the killing of the child, Abdullah bin Hadi Al-Haj bin Nas'ah, by tribal gunmen two days prior. This incident, also motivated by tribal retribution, underscores the grave danger of involving minors in these disputes and highlights the rising threat of security disintegration jeopardizing social peace within the governorate.
