Renewed Tribal Clashes in Arhab North of Sana'a Leave Two Dead

Two individuals were killed following the resurgence of armed confrontations between two tribes in the Arhab district, located north of the Houthi-controlled capital, Sana'a.

Local sources confirmed that at least two fatalities resulted from the renewed fighting, which involved the use of various types of weaponry between members of the 'Bayt Ba'ees' and 'Habbār' tribes in Arhab.

The sources identified one of the deceased as a young man named Hameed Abdulrahman Rajeh Al-Habari, while the identity of the second victim remains unconfirmed at this time.

This latest incident occurs amid an ongoing three-year conflict between the two tribes, a situation reportedly exacerbated by the Houthi militia's actions and the failure to implement any resolutions for tribal disputes, which have notably escalated since the militia's seizure of power in 2014.

The Arhab district has recently experienced a marked increase in the frequency of tribal warfare and disputes, involving other factions such as the 'Sha'ab' and 'Al-Jandaba' tribes, as well as the 'Bayt Wa'il' and 'Al-Sharzah' clans, in addition to the current conflict. The Iranian-backed militia has reportedly limited its involvement to mere observation of these escalating internal conflicts.
