Authorities in the Hadhramaut coast successfully shut down a pharmaceutical warehouse engaged in the illicit distribution of narcotic and sedative pills, following coordinated efforts between the Drug Control Administration and the local Ministry of Public Health office.

The closure operation was executed in the presence of a committee from the Ministry of Public Health and Population for the Hadhramaut coast, headed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Saadi, the acting director of Supply and Pharmacy Management, alongside Saleh Handoum, Director of Monitoring and Inspection, and Lawyer Ammar bin Ali Jaber, Director of Legal Affairs.

Major Wadah Omar Bazomah, the acting director of the Drug Control Administration for the Hadhramaut coast, confirmed that the raid followed meticulous investigations and continuous field surveillance. This operation led to the seizure of significant quantities of prohibited narcotic and sedative pills being dispensed without valid medical prescriptions, an activity outside the purview of licensed pharmaceutical warehouses, constituting a clear violation of prevailing laws and regulations.

Major Bazomah further indicated that the confiscated materials have been secured, and the necessary legal procedures have been initiated against all involved parties. They have been referred to the competent authorities to complete the investigation and ensure deterrent penalties are applied in accordance with the law.
