Border Forces Foil Attempt to Smuggle Thousands of Captagon Tablets into Saudi Arabia

Security forces at the Al-Wadiah border crossing successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle thousands of narcotic tablets destined for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saturday, as part of intensified efforts to intercept illicit materials at the land border between the two nations.

A statement issued by the Port Security and Protection Battalion confirmed that 4,925 tablets of the drug "Captagon" were seized. The narcotics were discovered concealed within a vehicle during routine inspection procedures.

The statement further indicated that the individuals involved in the smuggling attempt have been referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures and investigations.

The Battalion command explicitly accused the Houthi group of orchestrating the flow of these prohibited shipments. Preliminary investigations suggest that the vast majority of seized narcotics originate from areas under the group's control.

Concluding their statement, the command directly implicated the group in utilizing drug trafficking as a means to finance its operations and activities, while simultaneously aiming to undermine the security and stability of neighboring regional states.
